Hi everyone,
For those who have followed my writing journey, you know my work is often grounded in the harsh realities of our world. Now, I'm so excited to take you on a journey to a different world... one born from the ashes of our own. This October, my debut science fiction novel is coming.
if you know me, or have worked with me in real life... writing a sci-fi shouldn't surprise you!
This story began with a question: When everything is lost, what truly makes us human?
It follows the last remnants of humanity after Earth is sterilized by an asteroid impact. The survivors owe their existence to an ancient and utterly logical alien species that saves them not only out of the need to preserve intellectual life... even if it's barbaric, but for the scientific value of preserving a "chaotic biological art".
Among the survivors are Nathan and Christina Reeves, a husband and wife who find themselves separated by more than just distance. A clerical error rooted in a final, sentimental promise leaves them on two different worlds, each believing the other has been lost forever. As they navigate their new lives... one in a dome designed for procreation, the other in a dome for preserving knowledge... they must grapple with loss, duty, and a love that defies the end of the world?
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for more details, including the official title and cover reveal! Thank you, as always, for your incredible support.
Warmly, Deanna LaForce RN
