If you had told me years ago that I’d be writing a gritty crime fiction series, I would’ve laughed—probably on a 3-minute break between trauma alerts. But life has a way of shifting. After decades in emergency medicine, witnessing the full weight of human suffering, I realized something:
Some truths are too heavy for a chart. But they still deserve to be told.
That’s how The Lotus Mark series began. Not with a writing degree. Not in a workshop. But in the quiet moments after code blues. In the questions that haunted me after every overdose, every case of abuse, every story that didn’t make the news.
The Pink Lotus, The Blue Lotus, and the books to come are fictional. But they’re built from real emotions, real systems, and real silence. Each character is a mosaic of the people I’ve met—both patients and professionals—who struggled in a world that often looks away.
Writing has become my therapy. My advocacy. My rebellion. And my way of showing that even in the darkest moments, there are glimmers of humanity.
Today, I’m proud not only of what I’ve created but of the journey itself. I didn’t start out as an author—I started out as a nurse with something to say. And thanks to those of you who have read, supported, or even just asked about the series… I feel seen.
There’s more to come. More stories to tell. And as always, I’ll keep writing with purpose.
