In Subject N-42, the apocalypse isn't a war; it’s a rescue mission gone wrong. When a god-like collective known as the Hive attempts to upload humanity to save us from Earth's destruction, they treat our biology like corrupted data. They understand the atom, but they don’t understand the ache.

The result is the Lattice: a botched translation of the human race where faces arrive displaced, limbs are fused, and the very act of being reassembled is a form of clinical torture.
